Kambol - Powerful Amazon Medicine (originally posted July, 2016)

Over the past half year I have been receiving Kambol treatments from Taita Juan Ocelotl in the mountains of southern Ecuador. I did this post on my web site after the first treatment. I will be discontinuing my web site and this is one of many of those posts I will be transferring to this blog.

I recently have had some vision difficulties. My friend and shaman, Juan Ocelotl, suggested a regimen of three treatments of a Kambol cleanse. I have known him long enough, and have had sufficient experiences to trust him. The three sessions took place over a one month period of time. When I walked out of the mountains the day after my first regimen, I immediately could tell that my distance vision had increased clarity. I was able to identify small vegetation differences from a distance greater than a kilometer. I had a problem with a floater in my right eye, and that seemed to have shrunk in size by about 2/3's.

While some will purge within 5 minutes of application, I never felt the need. Later, evidence would show my purging took another form. During the ceremony, I became quite hot in my face, as if I had a fever. This took place quickly, within 5 minutes. My lips also felt numb. Juan only applied four points for the first two sessions. He also removed the medicine fairly quickly. For my third application, I received 5 points and he left the medicine on for about five minutes. This time my entire body became hot and I was quickly soaked in sweat. In addition to numbness throughout may face,  neck and throat became mildly swollen. When Juan removed the excess medicine from the points on my arm, these symptoms disappeared almost immediately. The kambol cleanse seems to have done the job. As with everything, the sessions are a ritual, with prayer chants, tambor beats, and ritual smoke and incense. It certainly makes for a more pleasant experience than a sterile doctors office.

I continue to enjoy my enhanced vision. The morning after my third application, I walked out of the mountain in 90 minutes, without the slightest fatigue. My previous best time was an hour and forty-five minutes, and with that came much fatigue. Time will tell how long the affects of the medicine will last, but for now, I feel great. My big hope is that the cleanse of my immune system is long term.

Kambo is one of the strongest natural antibiotics and anesthetics found in the world and one of the strongest, natural ways to empower our immune system. Kambo is the name given to the traditional frog venom cleanse used to strengthen and heal mind, body and spirit. The scientific name for this frog is Phyllomedusa bicolor commonly known as  “Giant Monkey Frog”. This frog lives in the Amazon Rain forest, primarily in Colombia and on the border between Brazil and Peru. It is used by indigenous tribes there to gain strength, immunity and hunting magic. Chobshi, Sigsig, Ecuador

Chobshi is one of my favorite places to visit in Ecuador. At this site is a museum, with a very helpful docent who takes a great deal of pride in the heritage of the Cañari peoples. At this site is a cave where 10,000 year old human artifacts have been excavated, Cueva Negra". Also, the fort built by the people shortly before their migration to Tomebamba, the current Cuenca, Take a walk along the Inca trail, view the river once called Rio Oro, at one time the most productive source of gold for the conquistadors. These  Cañari we very ubiquitous traders and signs of them have been found as far north as Guatemala and south through Peru and into Chile.

Shabalula is a circular diameter fort, or Ingapirca of 4.50 meters and 3.50 meters high, with a corridor of semi-elliptical shape 2 and 2.50 meters wide that is oriented to the southwest construction. Also on site are two buildings associated lytic Inca Trail, in aboriginal times communicated with the ancient city of Tomebamba (now Cuenca) and with Sígsig.

This is an area of archaeological riches. It also presents a range of natural attractions such as the Sagrada Laguna Shin-Sham or Ayllon Shingate the picturesque ridges of the canyon next to the Santa Barbara Valin River, Dry Gulch Bridge and the trails leading to the canyon Pailón, a natural site of interest.

Chobshi and the archaeological site are the responsibility of the community. The Community Association Chobshi facilitate stays and provide guided tours, as well as an interesting museum.
